Week 1, CHAPTER 18: Now you see him. . . Now you don't!

`Do you play croquet with the Queen to-day?'
`I should like it very much,' said Alice, `but I haven't been invited yet.
`You'll see me there,' said the Cat, and vanished.
Alice was not much surprised at this, she was getting so used to queer things happening. While she was looking at the place where it had been, it suddenly appeared again.
-- Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Just like the Cheshire Cat, we would like you to make a card where things appear and disappear! It could be as simple as a tag in a pocket or something more interactive and fun, for example a wiper card, a slider box or a slider card or even a double slider card, a telescoping card, a T-slide card, a swing (flip-flop) card, or a ViewMaster card. These tutorials from Splitcoaststampers are for inspiration; your project does not need to be a card and the hidden element does not need to be a cat. Enter by August 24 , and the winner will receive three digi stamps from our sponsor!
Our sponsor this month is Dilly Beans, featuring the whimsical art of Megan Suarez, famous for her charming big-eyed girls! You can see the digi stamps and collage sheets on her blog, Dilly Beans Stamps. There is also a Dilly Beans design team challenge blog and an Etsy shop with Megan's artwork to inspire you. Dilly Beans offers four Alice-related digi stamps: Alice in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and some whimsical mushrooms; the design team will be featuring the first three.

Bonnie McLain of Love Light and Peace created a Wonderland Configurations box.  I love all the little cubbies, adorned by the Dilly Beans Alice in Wonderland and Queen of Hearts. That box set askew on top is so perfect for this miniature Wonderland world. I don't see the Cheshire Cat anywhere. Where's the cat??? Be sure to visit Bonnie's blog to see closeups of the great project!
Bonnie made a spinner panel, see the string?
And there is the Cheshire Cat! Please visit Bonnie's blog to see all the photos of each cubbie, plus there is a bonus project of another Wonderland Configurations box by her friend, Sande!

Next is a gatefold card from Tracy Evans, and I love the way they become double doors with the addition of the trailer hitch hardware as knobs! Do you see the Cheshire Cat? I wonder what is behind those peephole panels!
Now we see the Cheshire Cat's head peeping out at us! Let's go inside!
What a fabulous scene! Of course I  LOVE the use of book text in the hearts and as background on the left and right panels. Click to enlarge the image, it is absolutely charming! Be sure to visit Tracy's blog to leave a comment and see all the details on this wonderful card!

Last, we have another amazing project from Bonnie McLain of Love Light and Peace, an art journal page with a Zentangle tree! Bonnie is quite the Zentangle enthusiast, and this tree is just amazing against the backdrop of vivid dyed tissue paper foliage. Do you see the Cheshire Cat? I wonder what happens when we pull the ribbon?
Why, that Cheshire Cat was hiding in the tree all along! Be sure to visit Bonnie's blog post, as she has step by step photos on the creation of this lovely, interactive art journal page, and to leave her a comment on her fun projects!

So join us for some interactive fun by entering your project by Friday, August 24 and PLEASE include your name or blog name in the TITLE. This helps me enormously when it comes time to had out the honorable mentions! (Note: if you are viewing this post in a reader or email, please click on the title of the post to go to the blog to see the entries or submit a project.)
We will have more Dilly Beans inspiration projects for you next week, and please leave a comment before you go!

Week 2, CHAPTER 17: Hurrah for the Red, White & Blue!

The White Queen gave a deep sigh, and laid her head on Alice's shoulder. `I am so sleepy?' she moaned.
`She's tired, poor thing!' said the Red Queen. `Smooth her hair -- lend her your nightcap -- and sing her a soothing lullaby.'
`I haven't got a nightcap with me,' said Alice, as she tried to obey the first direction: `and I don't know any soothing lullabies."
`I must do it myself, then,' said the Red Queen, and she began:

Hush-a-by lady, in Alice's lap! Till the feast's ready, we've time for a nap: When the feast's over, we'll go to the ball -- Red Queen, and White Queen, and Alice, and all!
-- Chapter 9, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There
In the United States, we are celebrating our Independence Day this month, so we have a patriotic Red, White & Blue color challenge for you! Of course here in Wonderland we know those colors are for the  White Queen, the Red Queen, and Alice's blue dress! Enter your red, white & blue project by July 27 for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor. All entries are welcome, but those that feature Wonderland will have two chances to win instead of one.

Erin Leveille of Stamp Till U Cramp created this wonderful Independence Day scrapbook layout, just waiting for the perfect photo of her Sweet Pea! I love the way she has scattered the hexagons across the layout, such a great way to integrate a lot of different paper patterns and also to use up scraps!
Erin used the My Favortie Things Hexagons Die and the Stamping Bella Alice stamp from Simon Says Stamp! The papers are October Afternoon, bright and summery! I love the way she altered the stamped image - Alice is holding a large teacup, so she made some cuts around the inside of her hands to tuck the flag  in place. Please visit Erin's blog to get the product links and to leave her a comment!

Barbara Washington of Magic Delights created a wonderful flower shaped shadowbox wall piece! The images are from various TJ Designs stamp sets, including A Walk Through Wonderland, Alice in Wonderland, and Down the Rabbit Hole.  Each petal has a corresponding stamped image to go with the color, with colored roses dividing the panes:

For RED we have the Queen of Hearts and painting the roses red.

For WHITE we have the White Rabbit and the white knight chess piece.

For BLUE we have Alice in her blue dress and the Blue Caterpillar.

Please stop by Barbara's blog for all the details and to leave a comment on this lovely flower!

Week 3, CHAPTER 15: Any Way You Go Will Get You Somewhere!

`Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
`I don't much care where--' said Alice.
`Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
`--so long as I get SOMEWHERE,' Alice added as an explanation.
`Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat, `if you only walk long enough.'
-- Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Any way you go will get you somewhere, so this month's challenge at The Altered Alice is ANYTHING GOES! It's all up to you, and we can't wait to see what road you will take with YOUR project. Amy Bowerman Stucki of Plucking Daisies has done another upcycling makeover on this old table, which now looks like THIS!!!
What a fantastic makeover! Charms are glued around the edges of the table and the ring around the legs. Mini playing cards adorn the edges.
The top is a magnificent decoupaged collage. The characters from Alice's Adventures stamp set have been stamped on metal, and the center is a mix of elements from various Alpha Stamps collage sheets!
And here it is amidst the previous Wonderland garden art makeovers by Amy; isn't it charming? Be sure to stop by Plucking Daisies for MANY more photos and the links to all the Alpha Stamps products used.

Donna Mundinger of Popsicle Toes has created this charming scene using Alpha Stamps paper dolls! The Queen of Hearts has spotted that unpainted white rose and she is NOT happy! It looks like both Alice and the Duchess have been imprisoned in this birdcage.
The paper doll sheets have many layers. Look at the little hedge hog Donna created with a pompom, and tiny cards have formed a whicket!
I love all the elements Donna has added to decorate the top of the cage. I think the laughing cat is one of my favorite stamps in the new set. And look at the clever way she has used the flamingo stamp! Be sure to stop by Popsicle Toes to leave a comment and to see links to the Alpha Stamps supplies used.

Alpha Stamps Guest Designers:
Amy Mayfield of Amy's Blam decorated this fun house-shaped wooden shadowbox! It is full of Alpha Stamps goodies; take a close look!
I love the "clock" at the peak of the roof, and the embellished bottle cap is a neat crowning touch!
Every inch is decorated, eye candy everywhere! I love the way Alice is looking at it along with us, a really great touch!

First up is Barbara Washington of Magic Delights, who has stamped and collaged a whole unbirthday tea party for our pleasure!
Of course the stamped Fish and Frog Footmen are delivering the invitation!
A wooden teapot is filled with bubbles of collage sheet characters!
More collage sheet elements are decoupaged into the bottom of the tea tray!
A row of stamped flamingos decorate the teacup (love!!!).
Which of course sits on a lovely stamped saucer, featuring the Humpty Dumpty, Cheshire Cat, and Alice and the Queen of Heart silhouette stamps. Humpty seems very appropriate for a breakable china saucer!
Stamped shrink art decorates the cupcake picks!

The cloth napkin has been stamped with Alice, a lovely detail!
The red rose is displayed in a clever handmade mushroom vase.
And a small shrine decorates the tray! What a wonderful tea party Barbara has prepared for our unbirthday; be sure to stop by her blog to leave a comment and get links to all the Alpha Stamps goodies used!

Erin Leveille of Stamp till U Cramp has altered a vintage children's edition of an Alice in Wonderland book!
Inside, amid the charming vintage book images, Erin has glued pages together and carved out a niche for a little Alpha Stamps scene! I think it is really neat that she has framed the chapter with Humpty to create her Humpty Dumpty niche.
Every few pages, Erin inserted Dresden or green punched vine borders. I love the rabbit peeking out, cut from a collage sheet. The collage sheet image in the background includes the same Humpty Dumpty image in the foreground that is included on the stamp sheet. Washi tape adds a decorative frame!
Various Alpha Stamps charms and a chunky bottle filled with a green glitter "potion" decorate the ends of the ribbon bookmarks. I LOVE that detail! Be sure to visit Erin's blog to get links to the supplies used, and to leave her a comment on this charming altered children's book!

Donna Mundinger of Popsicle Toes has created a charming wall hanging with loads of dimension! Donna noticed some of the images on the new Blue Caterpillar collage sheet contain diagonally overlapping images, and she has put them in relation to each other in this charming piece!
Donna printed the caterpillar scenes several times and tiled them up into a pyramid, which gives it a really neat dimensional effect when viewed from the front:
The text and stamps are from another collage sheet, and I love the way she has used the alphabet beads to spell out the age-old caterpillar's question! Notice the caterpillar silhouette from the new stamp set that she has placed in the margin.
More silhouette stamping in the margin, and postage stamps and quotes from the collage sheet. I love the postage stamp border Donna has used to echo the theme, and the Tim Holtz goodies with the Wander tag.
I love the vintage sign aesthetic that the whole piece has, and the layered labels at the bottom complete the effect. Alice's Adventures is one of the stamps and the name of the new stamp set, so appropriate! Be sure to stop by Donna's blog to get links to all the supplies used and to leave a comment!

Alpha Stamps Guest Designers:

Nichola "Knickertwist" Battilana [Bio] of Pixie Hill created this wonderful wooden shadowbox with all kinds of Alpha Stamps goodies!
I think Nichola has really caught the dreamlike nonsense quality of the stories, don't you? I love the stage curtains that create a proscenium arch at the top, another collage sheet element.
Love this Mad Hatter, he looks ready for tea! Be sure to stop by Nichola's blog to leave a comment on this wonderful, surreal project!

Rhea Freitag of Starrgazer Creates brings us another shadowbox, completely different different from the first as it is infused with the red energy of the Queen of Hearts! This is actually a make-over of a previously created project, so interesting to see the changes. There are so many wonderful things to look at; be sure to visit Rhea's blog for all the details and to leave a comment.
