Happy Easter from The Altered Alice!
"After a time she heard a little pattering of feet in the distance, and she hastily dried her eyes to see what was coming. It was the White Rabbit returning, splendidly dressed, with a pair of white kid gloves in one hand and a large fan in the other: he came trotting along in a great hurry, muttering to himself as he came, `Oh! the Duchess, the Duchess! Oh! won't she be savage if I've kept her waiting!'"-- Chapter 2; Alice's Adventures in WonderlandApril has arrived, which (in the northern hemisphere) brings thoughts of wearing your Sunday springtime best and perhaps donning an Easter bonnet! So we want to you to show us your Sunday best; ruffles, ribbons, lace, frills; however you want to interpret the challenge!
Enter using the Linky Tool below by Friday, April 27. All entries are welcome but Alice in Wonderland entries are encouraged and will receive two chances at the drawing instead of one. Multiple entries are great but each must be on a separate post.
The design team is so excited about showing off the brand new Wonderland Perfectly Clear™ Stamps from our sponsor, Stampendous (Website | Blog). This Alice is all dressed up from her shining shoes to the top of her hat, not to mention her frilly parasol! We will have THREE winners this month, and they will each receive the same Wonderland stamp set the design team is using!
Stampendous made this great blog blinkie for us, grab it if you want! |
Your Weekly Inspiration
Be sure to visit the posts about this challenge on the Stampendous blog; they announced the challenge here and have more this week here.
I love this elegant card from Erin Leveille of Stamp Till U Cramp, where each "spotlight" has been adorned with vintage embellishments! Erin has used the spotlight technique to great effect; take a look at each spotlight:
Be sure to stop by Erin's blog to leave a comment on this lovely and unusual application of the spotlight technique!
We have a beautiful Springtime confection from Donna Mundinger of Popsicle Toes; it looks like the Easter Bunny getting eggs from a bird's nest under glass, and he must have a delivery schedule to keep with that watch! Whoops, silly me, that's the White Rabbit and he's late for an important date! I love the soft color scheme and the wrinkly seam binding ribbon adds vintage flair.
I love the text base for the spool pedestal, which is wrapped in embroidered lace and a pink gingham bow. The pompoms around the upper tier are the perfect accent!
Under the glass dome, the White Rabbit waves the watch as he poses in front of a cast resin frame. I see our checkerboard floor in there; could it be a mirror with Wonderland on the other side? Be sure to leave a comment for Donna on her blog!
Barbara Washington of Magic Delights created this wonderful scene with Alice on one side of the looking glass and the White Rabbit on the other! I love the way the stripes look like wallpaper, especially with the wonderful tile floor stamp to ground both sides.
Alice has dressed up for the occasion with a shimmering gold organza pinafore and a lovely speckled feather in her hat!
The White Rabbit on the other side of the looking glass is urging Alice to hurry, hurry! Be sure to stop by Magic Delights to leave a comment for Barbara on this intriguing scene.
We are so happy that the Stampendous Design Team is still playing along; what a talented group:
Susie Cannon Moore of The Dies Have It created this lovely tag suspended from a loop of chunky ball chain. There are so many beautiful details. I am reminded that Stampendous also makes fantastic embossing powders and glitters; look how the chunky crushed glass glitter adds a real vintage touch, as does the strip of antique ric-rac. I love how the fan of playing cards and the watch face break the boundaries on both sides, and the scallloped border on the bottom also softens the edges.
Love the watch elements in the center, topped by a game spinner! And the antique ric-rac is even lovelier in this close up. Be sure to stop by Susie's blog to leave a comment.Cyndi Bundy of The Scrappy Chick created a lovely trinket box to house a birthday gift! I love the apple green and pink color combination, and the patterned paper is the perfect compliment.
Who wouldn't be thrilled to receive a gift in this pretty box? The clockworks stamp is the perfect background for our old friends!
I like the way she has stacked the lace, green and pink ribbons in the bow and finished it with the round tag. The "for your birthday" stamp in this set is gorgeous and suitable for far more than Alice cards! Be sure to leave Cyndi a comment on her pretty box.
So after all this amazing inspiration, get out there and show us your Sunday best! Enter by Friday, April 27 using the Linky Tool below. (Note - if you are viewing this in email or a reader, click on the title of this post and go to the blog to see the links.)
Please leave a comment before you go, they make this effort worthwhile and I love hearing what you have to say. I hope you are abundantly blessed on this glorious day; Happy Easter to all!
Feliz páscoa
