Week 3, CHAPTER 18: Now you see him. . . Now you don't!

`Do you play croquet with the Queen to-day?'
`I should like it very much,' said Alice, `but I haven't been invited yet.
`You'll see me there,' said the Cat, and vanished.
Alice was not much surprised at this, she was getting so used to queer things happening. While she was looking at the place where it had been, it suddenly appeared again.
-- Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Just like the Cheshire Cat, we would like you to make a card where things appear and disappear! It could be as simple as a tag in a pocket or something more interactive and fun, for example a wiper card, a slider box or a slider card or even a double slider card, a telescoping card, a T-slide card, a swing (flip-flop) card, or a ViewMaster card. These tutorials from Splitcoaststampers are for inspiration; your project does not need to be a card and the hidden element does not need to be a cat. Enter by August 24 , and the winner will receive three digi stamps from our sponsor!
Our sponsor this month is Dilly Beans, featuring the whimsical art of Megan Suarez, famous for her charming big-eyed girls! You can see the digi stamps and collage sheets on her blog, Dilly Beans Stamps. There is also a Dilly Beans design team challenge blog and an Etsy shop with Megan's artwork to inspire you. Dilly Beans offers four Alice-related digi stamps: Alice in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and some whimsical mushrooms; the design team will be featuring the first three.

Your Weekly Inspiration

Donna Mundinger of Popsicle Toes created a super fun swing (flip-flop) card for this challenge! As you open the card, a different version of the cat is revealed:

This is such a fun card! The tree, mushrooms, and heart flowers are also Dilly Beans images.  I really LOVE the paper piecing Donna did on the tree, and hte dimension added to the heart is really great.
And here is the fully open card revealed! I love all the layered images and text, especially the cut and pasted text of this month's challenge quote! Please visit Popsicle Toes to leave a comment for Donna!

I love the way Meme/Donna of Meme's Art Place colored this sweet Alice face, especially the luminous shading of her eyes, on this fun slider card!
Hmmmm. . . I wonder what happens when you pull that tab?
Hahaha! This card sure makes ME smile all over my face! Please stop by Meme's Art Place to leave a comment for Donna/Meme!

Amy Bowerman Stucki of Plucking Daisies created a whole crew of refrigerator magnets, which all gather around her original tree illustration! I love the way the quote spirals through the leaves and up and down the tree trunk!
Then you get to decide who appears and disappears as you play with the magnets! I love the way she has all the phases of the Cheshire Cat, from grin to head to a full cat!
And here we see them all together in a little scene! What a fun project; for the  details on how she made it, please visit Plucking Daisies and leave a comment while you are there!
